Jermyn Consulting Selected for itSMF Conference
Published: Sunday 19th October 08
Jermyn Consulting is pleased to announce that the company has been chosen by itSMF (the IT Service Management Forum) to run an IT disaster recovery workshop at its November Conference in Birmingham.
The theme for this year's event is "Driving Real Value", and Jermyn will deliver an interactive session entitled "IT Continuity: Finding the Right Solution".
The workshop will demonstrate how IT continuity requirements are measured and how real world solutions can be applied to them.
"All too often, organisations either overspend on IT continuity or stick with tape backups, because they can't measure their requirements. IT decision makers need to be engaged with the process and given the opportunity to understand the relevance of solutions," says David Davies of Jermyn. "This is what the workshop is about."
The exercise will take participants through analysis of IT continuity requirements, prioritisation of IT services and selection of continuity solutions. Jermyn will demonstrate how the topics covered fit with ITIL and relevant standards such as BS 25999 and 25777.
By the end of the session, Jermyn aims for every participant to be happy that they have grasped the key concepts examined, and where they fit with current standards and guidelines on the subject.
David Davies says, "If you know the potential impact of service disruptions and the actual cost of the appropriate solution, you can make an informed decision on recovery strategy for each IT service. There is no panacea; every IT service at every organisation will be different."
Established in July 2000, Jermyn Consulting focuses solely on business continuity and IT disaster recovery advice and has worked with many clients to find the right solution to their IT continuity needs.
